The London Probate Office is a part of the High Court and the probate division is actually known as the Probate Registry, but few people appear to be aware of this. The London Probate Registry is the main registry, although there are other probate registries spread out over the country. Like many other government departments, reaching the probate registry might be difficult because they are all government-run organizations. The majority of London probate concerns can be resolved with our London probate registry help.
Whenever is a probate
required?
Probate is often only
required if a person owns real estate, a company, or money that is kept in a
financial institution and that institution will not release the money without a
grant, probate, or letters of administration. If a person hasn't handed away
all of their assets before dying, that is. There is no defined protocol for
when banks and building societies will advise you that probate is required and
that you must obtain probate.
In the London area,
probate is often not required unless a facility has assets worth more than
$5,000. We are aware of numerous banks that will discharge up to £50,000
without the need for probate. The amount of money to issue must be determined
by the bank based on a number of variables. If you live in London, need
probate, and the dead had less than £50,000, they are unlikely to tell you that
you need probate. They will request that you sign an indemnification instead,
which will protect them from liability if you were to steal the money.
